List of airports in Italy

The list of airports in Italy contains all Italian airports that are served by domestic and international airlines, as well as the significant other civilian and military airfields.

Explanation

  • Airport Name: Lists the name of the airport as well as any additional names.
  • IATA Code: The code consists of a combination of three Latin letters and is used to uniquely identify the individual airports. In general, it depends on the name of the city in which the airport is located, after the name of the airport or for the nearest location. The IATA code is assigned by the International Air Transport Association (IATA ).
  • ICAO code: The ICAO code is assigned by the International Civil Aviation Organization and consists of a combination of four Latin letters. Here, the first letter L for Southern Europe, I is for Italy, the third letter is aimed at commercial airports on the Italian mainland usually after the relevant flight information region or the relevant competent area control center air traffic control (Milan, Padua, Rome, Brindisi), while on Sicily and parts of Calabria, the letter C (Catania ), and on Sardinia, the letter e ( Elmas ) applies. The fourth letter may be identical to the first letter of the geographical location, which is associated with the airfield.
  • Passengers 2010: Specifies the total number of passengers to the airport for the year 2010. This includes regular service, package holiday traffic, commercial traffic, commercial traffic and other traffic. Then there is the non-commercial traffic, such as traffic and non-commercial traffic
