Lütau

Lütau is a municipality in the district of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography

Lütau located in the southeast of Schleswig-Holstein on the main road 209 between Schwarzenbek and Lauenburg.

History

The village was first mentioned in Ratzeburg tithe register of 1230 for the first time.

From the entry in the tithe register of 1230 the Bishop of Ratzeburg Gottschalk ( 1229-1235 ) shows that the parish and the German village Lütau already existed in 1230. However, there are indications that Lütau is much older. So suggests the original name ( Lutowe ) back to its founding by a Slavic peasants, who gave the settlement its name (or nickname ). UTOV Lutowe or L' something can be freely translated as "place of L' ut " or " village wild man".

After formation of the offices in 1948 Lütau was up to the formation of an administrative community with the town of Lauenburg / Elbe in 1969 the seat of the Office Lütau.

Policy

Of the nine seats in the municipal council has the voter community WGL since the local elections in 2013 four seats, the CDU and the SPD three two seats.

Economy and infrastructure

Lütau runs a kindergarten together with the community Wangelau.

Approx. 200 students from the communities of the Association of Schools of Lütau belonging to attend primary school Lütau. Many students of the dissolved primary and secondary school Gülzow changed in 2009 to elementary school Lütau. As part of the Schleswig- Holstein school reform secondary school in Lütau expired.

In Lütau still a good ten agricultural full-time farms. In addition, even small craft and commercial businesses as well as a wholesale grocery business, a manufacturer of household goods and a Süßmosterei whose products are distributed nationwide, resident.
