Mannebach, Vulkaneifel

Mannebach is a municipality in the volcanic Eifel region of Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kelberg.

History

Mannebach is first mentioned in 1336. It belonged to the county Virneburg. 1350 is a Thylgen of Mannebach vassal of the county. The legacy of the Counts of Virneburg occurred in 1556 at the Manderscheid - Schleiden. Ecclesiastical, the village belonged to the parish Retterath. There, the high court found virneburgische (responsible for criminal matters ) in which Mannebach with a home castles (probably mayor ) was represented in the 15th century. Mannebach was in the 16th century the center of the so-called Bailiwick Mannebach, that is, a regional administration.

The local council in Mannebach consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms description reads: " In Gold an offset up and to the right red cross, top left seven red diamonds (4:3), bottom left floating a green palm branch crossed by a green arrow accompanied by a diagonally left blue wave bar".

Structures

In Mannebacher community forest was found prehistoric barrows and Roman burials, suggesting an early settlement. The chapel is dedicated to the collection and cross the Saint Sebastian. It was built in 1772. In the village there are several basalt crosses from the 18th floor and a picture from the 17th century.

Awards

Mannebach took in 2009 at the village of competition "Our village has a future" in the main class part. On Kreisebende Mannebach came in 1st place. This was followed by a 2nd place in the territorial decision

Museum

In Mannebach there since 1992, a private farming museum. In the lovingly converted stables of his parents Helmut Müller states in his remarkable collection of tools, equipment and machinery of agriculture that originated in part from the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. Among other things, the device of a peasants' cobbler's workshop and a house oven ( " Backes " ) included.
