Matzenbach

Matzenbach is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Glan- Münchweiler. Matzenbach is a nationally recognized tourist since 2002.

Geography

The place is situated on the Glan in the Western Palatinate. North-east rises the Potzberg. Matzenbach divided into the districts Matzenbach, Eisenbach and Gimsbach. Other residential places are: Auhof, Hollerhof, Langenbacherhof, Straubengrunderhof, fright mill and Wellesbacherhof.

History

On 7 June 1969, the municipality Eisenbach- Matzenbach from the communities Eisenbach and Matzenbach was newly formed. Today's local church Matzenbach was taken on March 20, 1971 by recharge from the municipality and the municipality Gimsbach.

Parish council

The local council in Matzenbach consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Culture and sights

In the district Gimsbach there is a heated outdoor pool. Protected Monument are the Gimsbacher Reformed Church from 1747, the Matzenbacher school house with bell tower from the 19th century and the staircase-shaped wash basin on your Glanufer.

Through the town, the B 423 runs in the southwest is the A 62 in the district Eisenbach is the train station Eisenbach- Matzenbach the railway line Landstuhl - Kusel.
