McLean County (Illinois)

McLean County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2010, the County had 169 572 inhabitants and a population density of 55.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Bloomington.

Geography

History

McLean County was formed on December 25, 1830 from parts of Tazewell County. It was named after John McLean (1791-1830), a lawyer and U.S. Senator from Illinois (1824-1825, 1829-1830 ).
