Geography
The County is located in northwestern Illinois to the mouth of the Rock River in the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa here. It has an area of 1168 km ², of which 63 km ² water surface are. At the rock Iceland County borders the following Nachbarcountys:
History
The skirt Iceland County was formed on February 8, 1831 Jo Daviess County said. It was named after the island of Iceland rock in the Mississippi River.
