Nitra District
The Okres Nitra is an administrative area in the west of Slovakia with an area of 871 km ² and 163 764 inhabitants (2004, 2001, there were 163 540, of which 149 060 ( = 91.1 %), Slovak and 10,956 ( = 6.7%) of Hungarian origin ).
Historically, the district is located for the most part in the former county Neutra ( west), a smaller part in the east to the place Vráble part of the former county bars (see also List of historic counties of Hungary ).
