The church today is a start-up from 1954 when it was spun off from the community Ploske. It has evolved from a Bauernhofneuansiedlung, the 42 families have built from the burned in 1942 community Pohronská Polhora in Brezno here since the burnt church was overcrowded and the then government of the Slovak State offered relocation. Other residents came from the neighboring towns and Ploske Šarišské Bohdanovce. Shortly after the spin-off of 1954-56 the building of the cultural center and the primary school were built. The Roman Catholic church was built in the years 1991-1993 and was ordained in 1993.
