Okrouhlá (Blansko District)

Okrouhlá ( German Okrauchla, formerly Okrohla ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers northeast of Boskovice and belongs to Okres Blansko.

Geography

Okrouhlá is located in the highest part of the Drahany country at the southern foot of the Kudlinka ( 638 m) above the valley of the brook Okrouhlý creek. The place is located - surrounded by forests - a large clearing on the southern edge of the Natural Park Řehořkovo Kořenecko. To the north, the wooded valley of the creek and west Višňový is the valley of the Bela. In the southwest is the dam Boskovice. To the west lies the medieval deserted village of Lhota.

Neighboring towns are Kapouňata and Karlov in the north, Korenec in the northeast, Benešov in the east, Suchy and Žďárná the southeast, Velenov in the south, Vratíkov the southwest, Pastvisko in the west and Melkov, Sudice, Vážany, Knínice u Boskovic and Šebetov in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in the year 1447th Okrouhlá was among the goods of the monastery Hradisko and the provost Knínice was assigned. Vladislav Jagiello in 1490 granted to the abbot Jan des Klosters Hradisko the pledge of the Provost Knínice to Henry of Jezera and Vitek of Ptení. 1499 Ladislav of Boskowitz received the goods Knínicer with the town Knínice and Svitávka and the villages Svetla, Cetkovice, Šebetov, Uhřice, Korenec, Úsobrno and Okrouhlá as a deposit. Later, the government got back to the monastery Hradisch. During the 16th century Šebetov was extended to the new seat of power and the Order was there as a residence built a big castle. After the dissolution of the monastery during the Josephine reforms its goods fell in 1784 to the religious fund. 1825 bought Karl Graf Strachwitz the rule Šebetov. His son Moritz Graf Strachwitz inherited the property in 1837.

After the abolition of patrimonial Okrouhlá formed with the settlement Melkov 1850 a municipality in the district team Boskovice. The primary school in the village closed in 1980. 1985 Okrouhlá was incorporated into Benešov. In 1990, the municipality Okrouhlá arose again. Since 2000 Okrouhlá leads a coat of arms and banners.
