Olargues

Olargues is a southern French village with 640 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the arrondissement of Béziers in the Hérault in the Languedoc-Roussillon region between Montpellier and Narbonne. She is a member and the administrative seat of the municipality of composite Communauté de communes Orb et Jaur.

Olargues is classified as one of the plus beaux villages de France ( most beautiful villages in France ).

Geography

Olargues lies at an altitude 148-760 meters in the valley of Jaur. The municipality has an area of 18.6 km ² and about 600 inhabitants. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Haut Languedoc.

The medieval Pont du Diable from the 12th century, was admitted to the State heritage protection list in France on 23 August 1916.
