Portiragnes
Portiragnes is a municipality in the department of Hérault in the Languedoc- Roussillon region in southern France. It has called 3202 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011), the " Portiragnais ".
Center of the village is the native of the 12th century church of Saint -Felix of black volcanic stone. On the outskirts there is the tower of the airport Béziers- Agde -Vias.

At Portiragnes also the sea-front neighborhood belongs Portiragnes -Plage. The beaches (swimming, tanning in the summer, walk in winter), drag it to a very large number of tourists. To this end, numerous holiday villages have been created here in the second half of the 20th century.
The urban area of Portiragnes is crossed by the Canal du Midi, which here has two locks. The canal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.
