Petrov nad Desnou

Petrov nad Desnou, until 1955 Petrovice nad Desnou ( German Petersdorf at the TESS ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers northeast of Šumperk and belongs to Okres Šumperk.

Geography

Petrov extends southwest of the Altvater Mountains in Rabenseifener Bergland ( Hraběšická Highlands ) on the lower reaches of the river to its mouth Merta in the Desna ( Tess ). To the northwest rises the Kamenitý Kopec ( Rocky Mountain, 615 m), east of the Farský vrch ( Trausnitzberg, 628 m), in the south the Prostřední skala ( center stone, 718 m) and west of the Bukový Kopec ( Great Hill, 640 m). Through the town, the state road 11 from Rapotín via the Skřítek saddle after Rýmařov. Petrov nad Desnou is located on the railway line Šumperk - Sobotín, branches off the branch line to Kouty nad Desnou of the in place and features a railway station, a railway stop.

Neighboring towns are Terezín in the north, Štětínov in the northeast, Sobotín in the east, and Rudoltice Hraběšice the southeast, Krasne, Anenský Dvůr and Vikýřovice in the south, Rapotín the southwest, Bratrušov in the west and Rejchartice in the northwest.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1391. 1354 belonging to the reign of Great Ullersdorf place of Margrave Karl had received the privilege of a free converter and was named after the first term Inhalter as Petersdorf. 1519 Church of St. Mary Magdalene was ordained. In hooves register of 1677 are noted for Petersdorf 62 estate. As part of the United Ullersdorfer witch trials, the wife of Petersdorfer judge, Ursula Kolbe was 1686 burned as a witch at the stake. After the division of the United Ullersdorfer rule Petersdorf came to power Wiesberg. Owner of the place were the masters of Zierotin and from 1770 the monastery Velehrad. The inhabitants of the place lived by agriculture. 1789, the manor farm was parceled out and applied to its corridors the village Theresienthal. Since the beginning of the 19th century in the village of a hammer mill and a saw ever, oil and flour mill. In 1834, Petersdorf consisted of 149 houses and had 1131 inhabitants. At the point of the hammer mill in 1839 a large factory for agricultural machinery was built by the Zöptauer iron Werke Gebr Klein. Between 1839 and 1842, leading over the Ficht Ling Emperor saddle road from Moravian Schönberg by Roman town was built.

After the abolition of patrimonial Petersdorf / Petro Vice formed with the district Theresienthal / Terezín in 1850, a municipality in the district Moravian Schönberg and in the judicial district Wiesberg. 1871 took the train from Moravian Schönberg Zöptau after the operation. 1890 lived in Petersdorf (without Theresienthal ) 1565 people in 193 houses. The 1904 inaugurated Lokalbahn Petersdorf - Winkelsdorf opened up the upper Tesstal. On 26 July 1904, the Church of St. Mary Magdalene burned after a lightning strike down to its foundations. It was not rebuilt, but instead was on their wall remains a new school building. As a Catholic parish church since then served the Church of the Assumption in Flachau. In 1911 a brick. By 1921 the village had grown to 1391 residents who lived in 205 houses. The population was predominantly German-speaking, in addition, there was also a Czech minority. Since 1924 the community Petersdorf / Petro Vice led the official name suffix to the Tess / nad Desnou. In 1925, the church of the Evangelical congregation was formed. 1927 Peter village was affected by a major flood. After the Munich Agreement in 1938 the community was annexed by the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district Moravian Schönberg. On May 5, 1939 Petersdorf was incorporated at the Tess Reit village. After the Second World War took place on 9 May 1945, the Vice My Dung after Sobotín and on January 31, 1946, the Petrovice nad Desnou arose again. After the expulsion of the German inhabitants lived in 1950 in Petro including Vice Terezín 1161 people in 270 houses. 1955 was the change in the community name in Petrov nad Desnou. 1980 Petrov was incorporated again after Sobotín. A 1995 -run referendum on independence as a municipality failed to pay the required majority. In 1997 the village suffered another severe flood damage. The largest employer in Petrov is the bicycle factory Velamos, which was privatized again in 1990. In 1991, the city had 1145 inhabitants. In 2001, the village consisted of 268 houses, where 1137 people lived. The end of 2009, the village of Sobotín broke off and formed its own community.
