Radvanec

Radvanec ( German Rodowitz ) is a municipality of Okres Ceska Lipa in the Liberec Region in the north of the Czech Republic. It lies on the southern foothills of the Lusatian Mountains.

History

The first mention refers to the year 1384. The location of the community has allowed its inhabitants to devote himself to agriculture. In the following centuries, weaving and glass industry developed. Even in the beginning of the 20th century here was engraved and painted glass; the water drive from the Rodowitzer Bach was not only used by a glass-cutting, but also of a flour mill. In 1870, the local school was built. Administratively formed Rodowitz from the mid-19th century, a municipality in the district court or in the district Bohemian Haida Leipa.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Radvanec Radvanec ( Rodowitz ) and Maxov ( Maxdorf ).

Attractions

The most important landmark of the village is the chapel of St. Anthony, whose construction was completed in 1818. Mention should also a number of reliefs which are carved into the sandstone formations directly in the community and in the surrounding woods.
