Saguenay Fjord (hockey)

The Saguenay Fjord du (English Saguenay Fjord ) was a Canadian ice hockey team from Saguenay, Quebec. The team played from 2002 to 2005 in the Ligue Nord - Americaine de Hockey.

History

The franchise of the Condor de Jonquière from the Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League was resettled in 2002 by Saguenay Jonquière and renamed Paramédic du Saguenay. In their first two seasons after resettlement they were ranked number four and six of their division. While the QSPHL 2004 changed its name due to the increasing professionalization of participants in the Ligue Nord - Americaine de Hockey, the owner of the Paramédic du Saguenay sold the team due to financial problems, so this took in the 2004/05 season under the name Saguenay Fjord du. However, the financial situation of the team continued to deteriorate, so the team was withdrawn after only 24 of the 60 match days of the regular season from playing the LNAH. Subsequently, the franchise was dissolved.
