St. John's IceCaps

The St. John's IceCaps are a Canadian ice hockey franchise from St. John's in Newfoundland and Labrador. It plays since the 2011/12 season in the American Hockey League.

History

In May 2011 it was announced that the investor group True North Sports and Entertainment had acquired the rights to the franchise of the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League to this to Winnipeg, Manitoba, to resettle.
