Twin City Cyclones

The Twin City Cyclones were a unterklassige American ice hockey team, which was initially located in Florence, South Carolina, and finally to Winston -Salem, North Carolina, moved.

History

Pee Dee Cyclones (2005 to 2007)

The franchise was founded in 2005 in Florence, South Carolina, to participate as a representative of the Pee Dee region under the name Pee Dee Cyclones in the game operation of the Southern Professional Hockey League. Their home games wearing the team's first in the 7,426 -seat Florence Civic Center. In his first season the team finished only sixth place out of seven teams in the regular season. While this meant participation in the play-offs, where the Cyclones failed, however, already in the first round of the Knoxville Ice Bears. In the season 2006/ 07, the franchise missed the seventh and last place the final round. Since no new contract was concluded with the Civic Center, moved the team to Winston -Salem, North Carolina, where they continued to play as Twin City Cyclones.

Twin City Cyclones (2007 to 2009)

In the Twin City the Caclones moved to the LJVM Coliseum Annex, which offers 3,500 spectators for hockey games and already in the 2004/05 season home ground of the Winston- Salem Polar Twins in the SPHL had been. The season 2007/ 08 ended the franchise in fifth place, failed in the play-offs, however, again in the first round. After the Cyclones had only occupied the last place in the following season, the team owners decided on 31 March 2009 to disband the team, given the international financial crisis.
