Vojtěch Polák

Vojtěch Polák (* June 27, 1985 in Ostrov nad Ohri, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player standing since September at Dinamo Riga in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Vojtěch Polák began his career in 2000 when HC Karlovy Vary in the Czech Extraliga, where he was when he played with two interruptions few games for HC Sparta Prague HC Dukla Jihlava and for, played until 2005. In 2003 he was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 2nd round at 36th place, so that he to the Iowa Stars, the Dallas Stars farm team moved in 2005. His NHL debut came on 22 October 2005 for the Dallas Stars in a game against the Calgary Flames. Overall Polák played five games in the National Hockey League. During the 2007/ 08 season he moved back to his hometown club HC Karlovy Vary. In the 2008/2009 season, he signed a contract with HC Ocelari Třinec, with whom he was in 2011 Czech Master. Beginning of September 2011 Polák received a contract for four weeks of the Kloten Flyers. The contract with Vojtěch Polák was later extended by the Kloten Flyers until Christmas 2011. Because the contract was not renewed with the Kloten Flyers, the SCL Tigers took over the Czech striker from 1 January 2012. Emmentalern The Polák received a contract until the end of the season 2011/12. The 2012/13 season he joined Piráti Chomutov in the Czech Extraliga. He changed during the season within the league to his tribe HC Energie Karlovy Vary. In February 2013 Polák returned to Switzerland and signed for HC Davos a contract until the end of the season.

In September 2013 he was taken from Dinamo Riga of the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Internationally

Polák appearances for the Czech Republic Under-18 Junior World Cup in 2003, when he reach him in six games three goals and two assists. In 2004 he took part in the U20 World Youth Championship, where he scored one goal in six games.
