Wincheringen

Wincheringen is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Saar castle. Wincheringen is a nationally recognized tourist and reported as a basic center in accordance with state planning.

History

The landmark of the village, the Warsberg house with former defense tower, dates the origin of the 11th/12th. Century. It belonged to a moated castle, which was destroyed over the centuries up to the manor house and the tower. The house takes its name from the reign of Gender Wars Berger, who found their way here from Varsberg in Lorraine to the Upper Moselle. From 1473 to 1793 they had a significant impact, the history of the town and the region. Today, the tower and house owned by the municipality. As a curiosity is to see that the bells of the nearby parish church of " St. Peter" hanging in the tower of the civil parish. The 1884 inaugurated a new church was built after the plans of architect Reinhold Wirtz without bell tower. A small tower with a bell was used to display the conversion during the fair.
