Geography
The wine community Wonsheims located in the largest wine-growing district of Germany and driving right in the Rheinhessen wine region and its landscape conservation and recreation area Rheinhessen Switzerland.

History
For the first time the place was first mentioned in a deed of gift to the monastery of Fulda as Vuanesheim on 10 June 800.
