  • FEBRUARY 29: Johann Christian Bach and Carl Friedrich Abel establish in London the successful Bach-Abel Concerts listed until 1781.
  • March 8 comic opera Rose et Colas by Pierre -Alexandre Monsigny on the libretto by Michel -Jean Sedaine has its world premiere at the Théâtre de l' Hôtel de Bourgogne in Paris.
  • April 23: On her started last year concert tour of Europe coming Leopold Mozart and his two children Wolfgang and Nannerl to London, where they met Johann Christian Bach and music together with him.
