1912–13 NHA season

The season 1912/13, was the fourth regular season of the National Hockey Association (NHA ). Masters were the Quebec Bulldogs.

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

  • The Toronto Blue Shirts were added as an expansion team in the league.
  • The Toronto Tecumseh were added as an expansion team in the league.

Mode

In the regular season, six teams each completed 20 games. The winner after the regular season was champion. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw one point and at a defeat.

Course of the season

Prior to the season the league with the Toronto Blue Shirts and the Toronto Tecumseh two teams from Ontario's largest city had taken. Last year's champion Quebec Bulldogs prevailed in the regular season confidently with 16:4 wins and twelve points ahead of the second placed Montreal Wanderers.

Stanley Cup Challenge

In the playoffs for the Stanley Cup, the Quebec Bulldogs were 2-0 victories prevail against the Sydney Millionaires and defend their title. When 14:3 - leg win Joe Malone scored nine goals. The return match won Quebec 6-2, but this time Malone paused.
