1927 German football championship

The twentieth German football championship was again a demonstration of the skill level of the South German teams. All three Südvertreter stood in the semifinals, only Hertha BSC could break into this phalanx and prevent a possible pure southern German final. The 1st FC Nuremberg won his fifth title and expanded its position as the most successful club further. The championship was (though a bitter local rivals including 0:5 at SpVgg Fürth ) won in 32 games with 57:7 points and 105:34 gates with only two defeats.

From the west came the first time two teams in appearance that should belong in the 1930s, one of the greats: FC Schalke 04 and Fortuna Dusseldorf. This time, it was enough but only for the first round. Again failed all three West German representatives in the second round.

Three other German football champions have been identified this year. There were Dresdner SV 1910, which thus won his fourth consecutive title ATSB, the 1861 TV Forestry in the German Gymnastics and DJK Sparta Nuremberg in the German Youth force.
