1948–49 Klass B season

The season 1948/49, was the second season of the Klass B as the second highest Soviet Hockey League.

Mode

The 12 teams in the Klass B were first divided into two groups. The zone center had seven teams with two participants over the East zone with five teams. Each team played in home and away matches against each group opponent, which is why the teams in the center zone of 12 games and the teams in the East Zone every 8 games completed. The top two teams in each group qualified for the final tournament, ascended the top three teams in the Klass A. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
