1949–50 Klass B season

The season 1949/50, was the third season of the Klass B as the second highest Soviet Hockey League.

Mode

The 19 teams in the Klass B were first divided into three groups. Zone 3 had five teams with two participants less than the other two zones, each with seven teams. Each team played in home and away matches against each group opponent, which is why the teams of Zone 3 each 8 games and the teams of Zone 1 and 2 each 12 games completed. The top two teams in each group qualified for the final tournament, the winner of which rose to the Klass A. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
