1961 South American Championships in Athletics
The XXI. Athletics South America Championships were held until May 28, 1961 in Lima on 20. The most successful competitor was the Venezuelan Sprinter Horacio Estevez with three titles and a silver medal. For women, the Brazilian Wanda dos Santos won three gold medals, her victory in the 60 - meter hurdles was the sixth consecutive win.
