1970–71 French Rugby Union Championship

The 1970/71 season was the 72th staging of the French rugby union championship. It included 64 teams in the top league ( of today's top 14).

The championship was divided into two phases. It began with the group phase in which eight teams played in eight groups against each other. The four winners of each group moved into the K - o.Runde. This was followed by sixteenth, eighth, quarter and semi-finals. In the final, held in Bordeaux on 16 May 1971 at the Parc Lescure, clashed the two semi-final winners and played for the Bouclier de Brennus. Here, the AS Béziers prevailed against RC Toulon and won for the second time the championship.
