1986 World Men's Handball Championship
The 11th World Handball Championship for men was held from February 25 to March 8, 1986 in Switzerland. A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament. The world title won Yugoslavia with a 24:22 win over Hungary. Bronze won the GDR selection, the team of the Federal Republic of Germany finished in seventh place.
