1992 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships
The World Half-Marathon Championships 1992 were held on 20 September 1992 in the framework of the Great North Runs. It was the premiere of the official IAAF World Half Marathon Championships as designated competitions that take place on an annual basis since then.
While the team rating, are added to the results of current best three runners or runners of a country still is part of the event, the race of the junior men took place only in the first two years.
The track was a point - to-point course between the cities of Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields with a net slope of 30.5 meters above sea level.
