1999–2000 French Rugby Union Championship

The 1999/2000 season was the 101st staging of the French rugby union championship. It included 24 teams in the top league ( of today's top 14).

After the qualifying round, in which the teams were divided into two groups of twelve, the two best teams qualified directly for the quarter-finals. The third - to sixth-placed from a Barrage contributed to the remaining quarter-final places. In the semi-finals followed on 15 July 2000 at the Stade de France final of winning the Bouclier de Brennus. This won Stade Français against the U.S. Colomiers and thus won the tenth title.

End of the season went from four teams in the second division, as the top league was reduced to 21 teams. The U.S. Montauban and RC Nîmes descended directly, while Stade Aurillacois prevailed in a Barrage against Racing Club de France, and remained in the top league. Since the RC Toulon had accumulated a deficit of ten million francs, the club no professional license received more and was zwangsrelegiert. A team rose to the AS Béziers.
