2000–01 Codan Ligaen season
The 2000/01 season was the third season of the Elite series under the name Codan Ligaen and thus the total of 16 host the highest Danish Hockey League. Masters were to total the tenth time in club history the Herning Blue Fox.

Mode
In the main round each of the nine teams completed a total of 32 games. The top eight teams qualified for the second season phase. This was played in two groups of four teams, with the two group winners qualify for the championship final. The top four teams in the main round took one or two bonus points in the second season phase. For a victory after regular time and after extra time, each team was given two points, a draw and one defeat after extra time, there was a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
