2003 European Touring Car Championship season
The European Touring Car Championship 2003 season consisted of 20 races on 10 different tracks (2 runs per race weekend ). 2003, the ETCC took the points system of formula 1 ( 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 ) for the first time. At the final race at Monza since his serious accident in 2001, returned for the first time back at the Lausitzring the ex -F1 and Champ Car driver Alessandro Zanardi in racing. European champion was the Italian Gabriele Tarquini.
