2008 Vuelta a España, Stage 1 to Stage 11#Stage 11

The 11th stage of the Vuelta a España 2008 on September 10, led more than 178 miles from Calahorra to Burgos. There are two intermediate sprints and a mountain stage of the third category were on the program.

Even at this stage it was again a while before a breakaway group could form. Finally, a trio set from: José Antonio López, Serafín Martínez and Andrij Hrywko. These three won the three intermediate points on the road, so that could lead to any changes in the intermediate classification. But the leader of the mountain classification David Moncoutie could extend his lead with the fourth and last place in the only mountain rating by one point. Maximum was the projection of the outliers to the seven minutes, but that was not enough to escape to successfully complete. So it was at the end to another mass sprint Óscar Freire before the Tom Boonen won.
