2009–10 Israeli Premier League

The Ligat ha Al 2009/10 was the eleventh season of the highest Israeli Football League under this name, and overall the 60th season.

Hapoel Tel Aviv won both the championship and the cup.

Mode

It was introduced with the season starts a new league format. First, the 16 teams played in a simple round-trip round a round. Then the league was divided, each group played a simple round. The points from the first round were halved, which was rounded up with an odd number of points.

  • The first six teams played for the title and the international launch sites.
  • The teams on the seventh to ten played for the placements.
  • The six worst teams played for the league or the relegation place.

The 14th of the first league played against the third party of the second league, Hapoel Kfar Saba, to avoid relegation. The match took place on May 22, 2010, Haber field Stadium in Rishon LeZion instead. Hapoel Ramat Gan managed to avoid relegation.
