2009 Baseball World Cup

The Baseball World Cup 2009 was the 38th edition of the Baseball World Cup and was held 9 - September 27, 2009 in eight European countries. Among other things, the Armin - Wolf- Arena was the venue in Regensburg. At participated in this tournament total of 22 teams from around the world.

Phase 1 of the World Cup was held 9 - September 12, 2009 and was discharged in five groups in five different European cities. Specifically, these were Barcelona ( Spain), Regensburg ( Germany ), Sundbyberg (Sweden), Prague ( Czech Republic) and Zagreb ( Croatia).

Phase 2 took place from 13 to 20 September 2009 in the Italian and san- marinated between cities of Milan, Turin, Rimini, Parma, Piacenza, Codogno, Bollate, Bologna, San Marino, Verona, Vicenza, Trieste, Florence, Macerata and Reggio nell 'instead of Emilia, and in the Dutch cities of Haarlem, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

Phase 1

The group winners and runners as well as the four best third qualified for the next round.

Group A

The matches of Group A were held in Prague.

Group B

The matches of Group B were held in Barcelona.

Group C

The matches of group C were in Sundbyberg, a suburb of Stockholm, discharged.

Group D

The Group D games were held in Zagreb. Originally, Moscow was the venue and therefore also provided Russia as a participant rather than Croatia.

Group E

The games in Group E were held in Regensburg.

Phase 2

Group F

The Games were held in Amsterdam, Haarlem and Rotterdam.

Group G

The Games were held in 15 different cities of Italy and San Marino.

Final Phase

From the final phase, all games were held in Italy.

Semifinal round

At the final stage, the four best teams in the groups F and G participated, were there but still the two groups 1 ( teams from Gr. F ) and 2 ( teams from Gr. G). The teams played against 4 teams of the other group.
