2017 World Aquatics Championships

The 17th World Swimming Championships to be held in summer 2017 in the Mexican city of Guadalajara.

The World Swimming Federation ( FINA) missed the event on July 15, 2011 on its congress on the edge of the swimming World Championships 2011 in Shanghai. Guadalajara was initially unsuccessful in its bid to host the World Championships in 2015, the Russian city of Kazan. Because of the high quality of the candidature, however, FINA decided to award the first time in its history, two world championships at the same time, and gave Guadalajara the contract for 2017., Mexico will host the World Cup so for the first time.
