26 Mixes for Cash

26 Mixes for Cash is a compilation of remixes, the well-known mainly under the pseudonym Aphex Twin British musician Richard D. James had produced between 1990 and 2003. It was published on 24 March 2003 in the UK record label Warp Records.

Content

The album was only released on CD, although a 2 mixes on a 12 " For Cash titled vinyl promo was available with two of the original tracks of the album as a limited edition in Japan.

In addition to the 22 remixes on the release are four new Aphex Twin pieces on the album. Firstly, two new versions of previously published titles Windowlicker, Acid Edit and SAW2 CD1 TRK2, Original Mix. The other two pieces The Beauty of Being Numb Section B and At the Heart of It All ( 7:14 minutes in the original, it was here, however, reduced to 3:49 minutes) were already on the remix album Further Down The Spiral of the U.S. American industrial rock band Nine inch Nails from 1994 available.

In addition to compiled on the album remixes James also worked on pieces of Beck, DJ Pierre and Soft Ballet new. He also remixed also more songs of Seefeel, Gavin Bryars, Jesus Jones, Saint Etienne and Mescalinum United.

Online orders the compilation by Warp Records came with two silver chocolate coins packaged with the Aphex Twin logo on one side and Richard D. James ' face on the other. Also, the lettering ELECTRONICA REX was printed on the coins.

The tracks on the album were used among other things in a commercial for the deodorant Axe, the television program Top Gear as well as during a broadcast of the Snooker World Cup 2006 on the BBC.
