Eastern Mediterranean

  • February - Battle of Kurupedion in Asia Minor: Seleucus I defeated the Thracian -Macedonian King Lysimachus, who falls in battle. Seleucus then pulls across the Hellespont to also incorporate Thrace his kingdom next to Asia Minor. He will, however, stopped by Ptolemy Keraunos who enters in Macedonia succession of Lysimachus, his widow, Arsinoe II married, and now can kill ( in August or September ) Seleucus. In the Seleucid Empire then takes over Seleucus ' son Antiochus I Soter the rule. In Macedonia and Thrace, Ptolemy Keraunos wins rule. These events are usually considered to be the end of the Diadochi.
  • Mithridates I, ruler of Pontus, assumes the title of king.
  • Celts first appear in Thrace; the Greeks call Galatians. They are led by Kambaules.
  • Ptolemy II, king of Egypt, orders the release of all held as slaves in his kingdom Jews.

Western Mediterranean

  • Tarentinischer war: Send After the attack on its fleet last year, the Romans sent an embassy to Tarentum to demand satisfaction.
