A Northern Soul

Occupation

A Northern Soul (English: A northern soul) is the second album by the British band The Verve and was released on July 3, 1995. Almost five weeks later, the band split for the first time. The album peaked in the UK album chart top spot 13

Description

Musically, A Northern Soul, an experimental combination of psychedelic rock and bluesy soul. Born of endless sessions on Ecstacy, alcohol, woman frustration and the usual world-weariness it is an album with many corners and edges whose significance went down unjustifiably between Oasis and Blur hype by critics opinion. With History and On Your Own, it contains the first two - songwriter ballads of Richard Ashcroft.
