Description

Dominated the Urban Hymns of eight Britpop rock ballads of 1995 for advanced main songwriter The- Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft. These songs along with the opener Bittersweet Symphony he still plays solo in his live program and with the reunited band in 2008.

With Rolling People and Come On are two old here " krachig - rocking" Verve songs, which still remain from the recordings of A Northern Soul. The song Neon Wilderness is the only song that makes a reference to the very early spherical surreal times of the band ( The Verve EP & A Storm in Heaven) and at the same time with Deep Freeze one of the two songs on the album, sprung from the Nick McCabe's songwriting are. The very "electronic " Deep Freeze was originally conceived as an album intro for the title Bittersweet Symphony, by the producers but this was rejected and positioned the song as a hidden track at the end of the album.

The Britpop had already passed its peak in 1997, and many critics view recommended at that time to open The Verve Urban Hymns with than those who have a new perspective and the artistic disappointing last Oasis could inherit. The separation of the band soon after the departure of Nick McCabe nullified this hope.
