History

The establishment of the association goes back to the centuries- long rivalry of Casale Monferrato with nearby Vercelli. After the SG had already celebrated their second Pro Vercelli 1909 Italian football championship in a row, it was decided in Casale Monferrato, to found a football club. As an association, black color was chosen, as a counterpart to the white lions from Vercelli.

At this time, the preliminary round of the Championship was played out in regional groups. Ironically, in the Ligurian- Piedmontese Regional Group of Casale played with Pro Vercelli, Genoa, Juventus and Torino and Inter and AC Milan, the most Italian teams this time.

After the team has been established and strengthened gradually, the Nerostellati 1913/14, for the final round of the championship qualified. There, they sat down by eight wins and two defeats in ten games against clubs like Juventus or Inter Milan. In the playoffs for the championship Casale then defeated 7-1 and 2-0 superior Lazio Rome and secured the first and only Scudetto in club history. Casale Monferrato was so Novese except U.S., who won the 1922 Championship of the FIGC, the smallest city in Italy, the club won the Italian championship.

After the First World War, the AS Casale remained until 1928 in the top division, after the Piedmontese team was relegated to Serie B and managed from a master of the second-highest league direct promotion back to the top flight. There, however, could not long hold and fell back in 1935 to the third league.

1973 Casale graduated with Junior, another club from Casale Monferrato, together and called up 1979/80 Junior Casale.

After two years in Serie C2, the Nerostellati 2006/ 07 played in Serie D, and skilled in the relegation play again for the C2 series. After another descent into the fifth- highest division succeeded after the 2009/10 season with victories in the play- offs against ASD albese Calcio and Virtus Entella the return in the fourth- highest division, now renamed Seconda Divisione Lega Pro.
