Aaron MacKenzie

Aaron MacKenzie ( born March 7, 1981 in Terrace Bay, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defender, who is since June 2012 at the Denver Cutthroats of the Central Hockey League under contract.

Career

Aaron MacKenzie, who was never drafted, began his career as a hockey player with the Thunder Bay Flyers of the United States Hockey League, for whom he played in the 1998/99 season. The following four years he was active for the ice hockey team of the University of Denver in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and was elected to the WCHA First All -Star Team in 2003.

On 6 October 2003, the defender of the Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League, the farm team of the St. Louis Blues, obliged. After his first year in professional hockey, the Canadian received by the blues a contract for which, however, he never played in the NHL. From the season 2005/ 06 MacKenzie was in the squad of St. Louis new farm team, the Peoria Rivermen, who committed him on August 24, 2007 by the blues.

On 14 July 2008, the Colorado Avalanche MacKenzie took as a free agent under contract and was at their farm team, the Lake Erie Monsters used. He Ind 2008/09 season, he completed five NHL games.

Since his contract with the Avalanche in the summer of 2009, he moved to the Idaho Steelheads in the ECHL. after three games for this he left the club again and HC Eaton Pardubice was taken from under contract by which he became Czech champion of the 2009/10 season.

For the season 2010/2011 he was hired by the Austrian Vice Champion Black Wings Linz. After just one season, MacKenzie moved to Japan in the Asia League Ice Hockey, where he stood at the Tohoku Free Blades under contract. On 12 June 2012, he was hired as the first player of the newly established franchise Denver Cutthroats of the Central Hockey League.
