In the southwest, a prominent rocky ridge leads over to Regalmspitze ( 2253 m) and down to the little Törl. To the south the Ackerlspitze coincides with partially vertical rock crashes into Leukental from similar steeply to the northwest into Griesner Kar and northeast into Maukkar. Tourist ascent

On October 1, 1826 Peter Karl Thurwieser with Johann Carl succeeded - in the belief it was the highest point of the Kaiser Mountains - the first ascent of the tourist Ackerlspitze. They were led by a hunter Rainer Stephan sub, who had previously been repeatedly climbed the summit. The ascent took place via the Niedersesselkar and the East Ridge.

Bases and routes

  • From the South

Base for the classic ascent of Ackerlspitze is the Ackerl Cottage ( self-catering ) to 1460 meters. From here north to Niedersesselkar (often until mid-July here is a strongly sloping, dangerous snow field ). From here leads from the south side, a partially provided with iron pins climbing through the high chair on over the east ridge to the summit in 3 hours. According to literature, this is a light in the difficulty scale with UIAA I ( key position II) designated, but exposed to tour with rockfall, the dry conditions, as well as slip resistance, fear of heights and requires alpine experience. Valley location for this route is going.

  • From the North

A little increase in committed possibility, but this is extremely rewarding and less demanding than from the south side. The starting point is the Griesner Alm in Kaiserbachtal, from there you have access to rich serpentine trail in about 2 hours up to the Fritz- Pflaum Hut ( 1,865 m, self-catering ). From there. Additional 2 hours in the shady north slope on the Ackerlspitze, this route is slightly lighter, not as exposed and vulnerable as rockfall from the south, but because Altschneefeldern usually until July feasible

  • Transition Maukspitze

Who has climbed the Ackerlspitze, is happy to take the transition to neighboring Maukspitze inspected. Over there leads a designated, however, strongly exposed route with only a few fuses and remarkable ascent. From the Maukspitze is then mostly descended over the relatively trouble- southwest ridge to the low chair and Ackerl hut.
