Adam Johnson ( * 14 July 1987 in Sunderland) is an English footballer who plays for Sunderland AFC. He emerged from the youth department of FC Middlesbrough. His first try as a professional he had on 17 March 2005 in the UEFA Cup. The favored position of it is the left wing, but it can also be used on the right side.

Adam Johnson emerged from the youth department of FC Middlesbrough. With this he won the 2004 FA Youth Cup. This was also the first junior Cup winning the club's history. Of the five possible matches, the midfielder played four matches. On 24 May 2010 Johnson received his first senior international match against Mexico. Fabio Capello joined him there in the 85th minute for James Milner. Shortly thereafter, Johnson was in England's preliminary squad for the 2010 World Cup, but was not considered. After the World Cup he was part of the regular cadres of the country selection. His first hit in the dress of the Three Lions managed winger on September 3, 2010 at the qualifier for Euro 2012 against Bulgaria.
