Ki Sung-yueng

Ki Sung -yong ( born January 24, 1989 in Gwangju ) is a South Korean football player.

Career

In the club

Ki Sung -yong came in 2006 as a 17 -year-old for FC Seoul, but was allowed only after the inauguration of Şenol Güneş debut as manager a year later in the first team. After he had gone through various junior national teams of South Korea, Ki participated in the U-19 Asia Cup and at the World Youth Championship in Canada. In 2008, he took with South Korea at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, where the Koreans were eliminated early on. Shortly after, Ki Sung -yong was first appointed to the senior team. On 5 September 2008, he played in the World Cup qualifier against Jordan his first international match.

Due to his strong performances of Scottish giants Celtic became aware of him in 2009 and took him in December under contract. In Scotland, Ki, was in Glasgow to his idol Steven Gerrard nicknamed Kirrard received, runners-up and League Cup winners.

In August 2012, he moved to the Premier League Swansea City, where he signed a three-year contract until 30 June 2015.

In the National Team

In summer 2010, he participated in the World Cup in South Africa.

In 2012 he was in the squad for the Olympic Games and came in all six games for use. In the 3rd place match he won with his team the bronze medal, the first medal for South Korean football player.
