Adrián López Álvarez, called Adrián ( born January 8, 1988 in San Martín de Teverga ) is a Spanish football player.

Career

Clubs

Adrián was once considered a great talent for the future of Spanish football. A native of Asturias Adrián joined Deportivo La Coruña in 2006 where it was used regularly. His first goal in La Liga scoring against the Catalan top club FC Barcelona in the season 2006/07.

In early 2008 he was loaned to second division side Deportivo Alavés and managed with the Basques in the league.

For the 2008/ 09 season Adrián López was loaned to the first division team FC Malaga.

For the 2011/12 season Adrián joined free transfer to Atlético Madrid. There he won the 2012 UEFA Europa League.

National

In the U20 World Cup 2007 in Canada, he was able to achieve with Spain only the quarter-finals, he was awarded the Silver Ball as the second best scorer of the World Cup with five goals. In the U-21 European Championships 2011, he won the title with Spain and was top scorer of the tournament. He scored five goals in five games, including the late equalizer in the semi-final against Belarus, by which Spain took refuge in the extension, and then moved into the finals.
