Aero Ae-45

The Aero Ae -45 was a twin-engine passenger aircraft of the Czechoslovak Aero manufacturer based in Prague - Vysočany. Militarily, it was used as a liaison aircraft.

History

Development work began in 1945 and were led by the designers Jiří Bouzek, Ondřej Němec and František Vlk. The first prototype ( ID: OK- BCA) first flew on July 21, 1947, the second with the registration OK -CCA on March 12, 1948 flight test was uneventful and the aircraft was released for series production.. Until 1951 200 copies were built, flying still in Italy, Hungary, the USSR, East Germany and Switzerland except in Czechoslovakia.

The Ae -45 was also used briefly in the Czechoslovak Air Force, where she was known as the K- 75th In 1954 appeared the improved version Ae - 45S Super Aero, whose production was taken over by the LET in Uherské Hradiště - Kunovice because at Aero at this time the series production of the MiG -15 license had S -102 takes precedence. It emerged once more 228 machines, which were also exported. Some Ae - 45S received radios and night were airworthy.

China acquired the license rights and manufactured the Super Aero under the name Suingari -1. The Lufthansa, the German Democratic Republic and the air forces of the NVA had also some specimens of this type in their inventory. In the Federal Republic of Germany there was at the end of the 1950s Aero 45 and Aero Super 145; one of the first private owner was the Hamburg Bauer Verlag; flown by publisher - son Heinz Bauer.

In 1959 the Ae -145 as a further development with stronger M -332 engines, were produced by the 162 piece LET. The successor Ae - Ae - 245 and 345 remained experimental samples.

Technical Description

The Ae -45 was a cantilever low- wing monoplane of all-metal semi- monocoque construction. The wings were designed in three parts with three bars and the tail in cantilever normal construction. All rudders were covered with fabric. The main wheels of the rear -wheel drive drove backwards into the engine nacelles, the tail wheel was rigid. In winter snow sled could be mounted.
