Agnès Soral

Agnès Soral ( born June 8, 1960 in Aix -les- Bains, Savoie, France; actually Agnès Bonnet de Soral ) is a Swiss-French theater and film actress.

Life

Agnès Soral was born in 1960 in Aix -les- Bains as the third and last child of a Swiss legal adviser and a French notary clerk. You two year older brother is the extreme right-wing essayist Alain Soral from which they sharply distanced himself publicly in 2014. When she was 13 years old, she and her family moved to Grenoble, where she attended the local conservatory. She joined the amateur acting troupe foyer Parmentier and worked among others as a puppeteer. At 15, she went to Paris, where she, among other things as a model and worked in the cinema usher and attended an acting course at Françoise Le Bail and George Wilson. She gave in 1976 in Dimitris Kollátos ' piece Voyage avec la drogue et la mort at the Théâtre d'Art et d' Essai her theater debut.

Soral was in 1977 in Claude Berri's melodrama Every beginning is fun ( Un moment d' égarement ) for the first time in a movie to see. Six years later, she played again under the direction Berris in the drama film On the Edge of Night ( Tchao pantin, 1983). For her portrayal of the young punk Lola, she received two César Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress and Best Young Actress, and was thus known to a wider audience.

In 1986, the 1.78 meter tall actress starred opposite Jürgen Prochnow and Senta Berger in Michael Verhoeven's film Killing Cars. For the Drama fear and love, she worked in 1988 with the German director Margarethe von Trotta together. In the star-studded television miniseries Catherine the Great ( Catherine the Great, 1995), she played as Countess Bruce the confidante of Catherine II, which was played by Catherine Zeta -Jones. A year later Soral also belonged to the occupation of Volker Schlöndorff's The Ogre. In the theater, she was seen over the years, among others, in pieces of Marguerite Duras (Des Journées entières dans les arbres ), Tennessee Williams ( Cat on a Hot Tin Roof ) and Bertolt Brecht ( Puntila and his Man Matti ).

Soral was in 1998 with the short film Ça boum her directorial debut. In 2006, she participated in the French version of I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here! in part to draw attention to the protection of the rain forest by its own account. Since 2007 Soral is the patron of the society Aqua Verde, which works with the indigenous population of Brazil for the preservation of the Amazon rainforest.
