Al Leiter

Alois " Al " Terry conductor ( born October 23, 1965 in Toms River, New Jersey ) is a former American professional baseball player in Major League Baseball.

Biography

Al conductor was obliged by the New York Yankees in the 1984 draft. His debut with the Yankees he gave on 15 September 1987 in the American League. His achievements at the Yankees, however, were not very convincing, so he was sold by New York to the Toronto Blue Jays. For the Blue Jays, he denied due to various injuries in the first three years only eight games. He won his first game for the Blue Jays in 1993. However, he was able to help this season the Blue Jays to win the World Series.

In 1995 he played his first injury-free year as a professional baseball. After the season he moved to the Florida Marlins, who had offered him a lucrative three- year contract. On May 11, 1996, he threw the first no-hitter in the history of the Florida Marlins and the single of his career. The Marlins defeated on this day the Colorado Rockies in Joe Robbie Stadium 11-0. For the first time he participated in this season at the All- Star game. In 1997, he showed average performance again, but reached with the Marlins to the World Series against the Cleveland Indians. In the seventh game, he was set up by Jim Leyland, the manager of the Marlins, as initiators. Manager did his job well and let in 6 innings only 2 runs to. The Marlins won the game after 11 innings 3-2 and secured in its fifth year of their first World Series.

In 1998, head back to New York, but this time to city rivals Mets. In 2000 he reached the Mets to the World Series against the Yankees. There he threw in the fifth game of the series. Head finished the game as a loser, but had thrown 142 balls and won thanks to this endurance watching the New York audience. In 2005 he then moved back again to the Marlins in which he did not bring the expected benefits. Since the Yankees four starting pitcher had failed injured, he returned to complete his career again at the starting point. In his first game with the Yankees he had a victory against the Boston Red Sox. In the further course of the season he was mainly used as Einwechselwerfer.

His retirement was Head on 19 March 2006 known in a preseason game against the Cleveland Indians.
