Alberto Tarantini

César Alberto Tarantini ( born December 3, 1955 in Ezeiza, Buenos Aires, Argentina ) is a former Argentine footballer.

Tarantini was in the early 1980s as one of the best left-back in the world. His international breakthrough, he experienced in the Football World Cup 1978 in their own country. He played in all the games his team from the start and scored as an offensive defender in the final group game of the Second Final Round 6-0 over Peru goal to make it 2-0. In the final he won with his team against the Netherlands 3-1 and has won the World Cup.

With the Football World Cup 1982 in Spain, he was also involved in all games, but the defending champion retired after defeats against Brazil and Italy in the second round. In the club he played for CA Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires. In Europe, he had little success. He played for FC Toulouse and 1978 /79, a season for Birmingham City, but was dismissed at the end of the season because of lack of discipline.
