Alexander Marent

Alexander Marent ( born February 21, 1969 in Alberschwende, Vorarlberg, Austria) is a former Austrian cross-country skiers.

Career

Marent debuted on December 7, 1991 at the 10 km Run in Silver Star BC Cross-Country World Cup. In the same winter he also took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville and completed three individual races and the relay ( with Alois Schwarz, Alois Stadlober and Andreas Ringhofer ).

On 5 December 1995 he celebrated in Brusson his only victory in the Continental Cup, after he had already occupied the 2nd place on the day. Although he import good results in the Continental and regularly exhibited in the top ten, he could not convince the World Cup. His best finish ( 6th) he went on 27 November 2001 with the relay in Kuopio one. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City ( USA), he was also in the relay ( with Mikhail Botwinow, Gerhard Urain and Christian Hoffmann) retract the 4th place at the 4x10km run. On 15 February 2003, he played his last World Cup race.

Trivia

At the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville in 1992 he was flag-bearer of the Austrian team. Marent lives in Mellau.
